Terms of Service
Last updated: 3 May 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Verso mobile application and related services ("Service"), provided by Gradiente Ltd ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
- You agree to provide accurate information when registering and to keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
- You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to upload, store, or process content you do not have the right to use, including copyrighted materials you do not own or are not licensed to use for personal study.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service in a manner that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
- Use the Service to violate any law or to infringe anyone's rights.
- Attempt to bypass authentication, rate limiting, or other security measures.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the decks, cards, and PDFs you create or upload ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, and display Your Content solely to operate the Service for you. We do not claim ownership of Your Content, and we do not use it to train AI models.
You are solely responsible for Your Content and for obtaining any rights or permissions required.
5. AI-generated content
The Service uses third-party AI providers (currently OpenAI) to generate flashcards from PDFs you upload. AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your purpose. Verify generated cards before relying on them, especially for exams, certifications, or any high-stakes use.
6. Subscriptions and payments
Some features of the Service may require a paid subscription. Subscription pricing, billing cycles, renewal, and cancellation are handled through the Apple App Store under Apple's terms. Refunds, where applicable, are handled by Apple.
7. Service availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, and will give reasonable notice for material changes that affect paid users.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or pose a security or legal risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. limitation of liability, governing law) will survive.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Verso is a study tool, not a substitute for professional, medical, legal, or financial advice.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gradiente Ltd will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or revenue arising out of your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £50.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence give you the right to bring proceedings there.
12. Apple-specific terms
If you use the Service via the Apple App Store, the following also apply:
- These Terms are between you and Gradiente Ltd, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its contents.
- Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the Service.
- Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
